The article charts the transnational connections of the sympathizing organization the League Against Imperialism and for National Independence (LAI, 1927-1937), and its historical legacy. The German communist Willi Münzenberg (1889-1940) and the Communist International were pivotal for the LAI’s history as a transnational actor of interwar anti-imperialism. This article charts LAI’s role in shaping transnational movements of resistance against colonialism and imperialism in the interwar years.
