What are the psychopathological and psychodynamic options available to adolescents who are pushed into adulthood at an early age? It is generally believed that specific organizations that the author calls pseudo-adjustments freeze the psychic work specific to adolescence. J. Bergeret’s notion of pseudo-latency casts this issue in the light of seduction and trauma, allowing underlying paradoxical positions to be worked through in the therapeutic setting.
