<br/><br/> ‪This article analyses the variants between the ‪ ‪Encyclopédie’‪‪s ‪ ‪Prospectus‪‪ as published in 1750 and the text reproduced by D’Alembert ‘with those changes and additions which seemed appropriate’ at the end of the ‘Discours préliminaire’. The study of what has been removed and added allows us to think about the status of the dictionary’s ‘Préfacé’ and the ambitions of its author, seeking récognition in the literary world.‪
