<br/><br/> This article considers the impact of the War in Donbass on Ukrainian veterans of the Soviet war in Afghanistan. How does a group legitimated by its experience in conflict deal with a new war several decades later? After a description of how these veterans have been integrated in Ukrainian society, answers are sought to three questions: Do these veterans have a specific place in the War in Donbass? Has the war altered the veterans’ network of solidarity? How deep are the social divisions wrought by the war?
