<br/><br/> The first part of the article gives a thumbnail picture of today’s world, dominated by big financial and trade institutions and by the wealthy elite of the world. US President George W. Bush is at the helm of global policies which victimize nature and people, especially the poor. The second part says that a follower of Jesus cannot rest content with a purely personalistic, private, a-historical spirituality. Salvation or the Kingdom of God means a new world, experiencing a new history. The disciple is mandated to engage in contributing to create alternatives to the unjust and inhumane world of corporate globalization.
