A Paradoxical First Encounter - 2002.

30

From the first interview with a patient who almost announces a mortal illness from the start, the analyst is put in a particularly disorganizing form of paradox. The ability of the analyst to simultaneously evoke representations linked to the two terms of the paradox gives a visual representation of this. As a result of this movement, supported by the ?dipal superego of the analyst, the psychic functioning of the analyst is maintained at a level capable of elaboration.
