N1 - 2 N2 - The present article provides an overview of psychological research on work-family life with an emphasis on dual-earner families. In the last decades, research in this field has been dominated by a deficit-oriented paradigm focusing mostly on stressful or negative antecedent, mediating and moderating variables with respect to specific outcomes at the individual, family or work level. In recent years, a more comprehensive view has been adopted to include also facilitative and positive aspects in work-family research (e.g., positive work-family spill over effects, resourceful personality dispositions, constructive adaptive strategies). Moreover, new assessment technologies and data-analytic strategies allow for a more finegrained systemic analysis of work-family interactions. Based on these conceptual and methodological developments we propose an integrative conceptual framework that might serve as a useful platform for future research on the interdependencies of work and family life including international and cross-cultural studies UR - https://shs.cairn.info/journal-la-revue-internationale-de-l-education-familiale-2006-1-page-9?lang=en ER -
