N1 - 12 N2 - This article is based on a presentation at the workshop on security at Grande-synthe and on the reflections to which it gave rise at the CIRFIP symposium on action research. First of all, we describe this process of elaborating on situations of insecurity, combining elected officials, professionals, and residents; this collective work aims to better understand situations of insecurity, and to create conditions for reassuring all residents. The political inclusion of this workshop within the municipality constitutes a necessary condition for its development.
