2

Advanced nursing practice in French Guiana highlights the tensions facing an emerging profession in a geographically isolated, socially precarious, and culturally diverse context. Advanced practice nurses navigate between centralized biomedical frameworks and local realities through a negotiation and cross-fertilization of academic, experiential, and local knowledge. Analysis of Decentralized Prevention and Care Centers (CDPSs) and an interview with a field-based nurse underscore the importance of reflexivity and cultural safety in shaping a dynamic, situated process of professionalization and transforming care practices in intercultural settings.
