N2  - A-t-on le droit d’empêcher les massacres ? Nous étions trop jeunes pour nous révolter contre Auschwitz. Contre les grands massacres de notre époque, nous nous sommes mis en mouvement. Nous avons inventé l’action humanitaire, une solidarité de la main à la main. Nous rêvions de défendre les groupes humains et les minorités avant qu’on les meurtrisse. Nous avions l’ambition d’intervenir contre les dictatures assassines. Empêcher l’extermination des minorités, cela exige une volonté politique au-delà des bons sentiments; Who does others’misfortune belong to ? Can we be allowed to prevent massacres ? We were too young to revolt against Auschwitz. We acted against the greatest massacres of our epoch. We invented charitable organization, a hand-in-hand solidarity. We dreamt of protecting human groups and minorities before they got hurt. We had the ambition of intervening against the murderous dictatorships. Stopping the extermination of minorities demands a political will beyond good feelings
