    <subfield code="a">C&#x2019;est dans le volume&#xA0;6 de son Histoire g&#xE9;n&#xE9;rale du cin&#xE9;ma paru en&#xA0;1954, le Cin&#xE9;ma pendant la guerre, que Georges Sadoul fit &#xE9;tat des premiers r&#xE9;sultats du dialogue qu&#x2019;il avait &#xE9;tabli avec diff&#xE9;rents organismes de conservation audiovisuelle et intellectuels africains, asiatiques et latino-am&#xE9;ricains sur la base de la position qu&#x2019;il occupait &#xE0; la FIAF comme secr&#xE9;taire g&#xE9;n&#xE9;ral du Bureau International de Recherche sur l&#x2019;Histoire du Cin&#xE9;ma. C&#x2019;est dans le cadre des activit&#xE9;s du BIRHC que Sadoul rassembla les sources n&#xE9;cessaires &#xE0; la r&#xE9;daction de son Histoire du cin&#xE9;ma mondial (1959) o&#xF9; le ph&#xE9;nom&#xE8;ne des cin&#xE9;mas nationaux est analys&#xE9; rigoureusement. Cet article montre comment les &#xE9;crits de Sadoul sur l&#x2019;histoire du cin&#xE9;ma br&#xE9;silien &#xE9;clairent la mani&#xE8;re dont il int&#xE8;gre progressivement l&#x2019;histoire des cin&#xE9;matographies p&#xE9;riph&#xE9;riques dans son projet historiographique mondial. Dans le cas br&#xE9;silien, la d&#xE9;couverte (1953), la r&#xE9;vision (1957) et la recherche (1960) de l&#x2019;histoire du cin&#xE9;ma br&#xE9;silien qu&#x2019;il a entreprises dans le pays sont li&#xE9;es &#xE0; la formation et au d&#xE9;veloppement m&#xEA;mes des recherches historiques de la Cin&#xE9;math&#xE8;que br&#xE9;silienne, dirig&#xE9;e par Paulo Em&#xED;lio Sales Gomes. &#xC0; partir de cette approche, il sera possible de montrer comment Sadoul, en dialoguant avec Sales Gomes, a contribu&#xE9; activement &#xE0; la conception et la l&#xE9;gitimation d&#x2019;un mod&#xE8;le narratif adapt&#xE9; &#xE0; un pays de dimensions continentales et &#xE0; l&#x2019;identification d&#x2019;une source de tradition pour le cin&#xE9;ma br&#xE9;silien.</subfield>

    <subfield code="a">It was in volume&#xA0;6 of his General History of the Cin&#xE9;ma published in 1954, &#xAB;&#xA0;Cinema during the War&#xA0;&#xBB;, that Georges Sadoul reported on the initial results of the dialogue he had established with various audiovisual conservation bodies and African, Asian and Latin American intellectuals on the basis of the position he held at FIAF as General Secretary of the Bureau International de Recherche sur l&#x2019;Histoire du Cin&#xE9;ma (BIRHC). It was within the framework of the BIRHC&#x2019;s activities that Sadoul gathered the sources needed to write his Histoire du cin&#xE9;ma mondial (1959), in which the phenomenon of national cinemas is rigorously analysed. This article shows how Sadoul&#x2019;s writings on the history of Brazilian cinema shed light on the way in which he gradually integrated the history of peripheral cinematographies into his world historiographical project. In the Brazilian case, the discovery (1953), revision (1957) and research (1960) of the history of Brazilian cinema that he undertook in the country are linked to the very formation and development of historical research at the Brazilian Cinematheque, directed by Paulo Em&#xED;lio Sales Gomes. Using this approach, it is possible to show how Sadoul, in dialogue with Sales Gomes, actively contributed to the conception and legitimisation of a narrative model adapted to a country of continental dimensions, and to the identification of Brazil&#x2019;s cinema with its own history.</subfield>

    <subfield code="a">Nel volume&#xA0;6 della sua Storia generale del cinema pubblicata nel 1954, &#xAB;&#xA0;Cinema durante la guerra&#xA0;&#xBB;, Georges Sadoul riporta i primi risultati del dialogo che aveva instaurato con diversi enti di conservazione degli audiovisivi e con intellettuali africani, asiatici e latinoamericani, sulla base della posizione che ricopriva alla FIAF come segretario generale del Bureau International de Recherche sur l&#x2019;Histoire du Cin&#xE9;ma (BIRHC). &#xC8; nell&#x2019;ambito delle attivit&#xE0; del BIRHC che Sadoul raccolse le fonti necessarie per scrivere la sua Storia del cinema mondiale (1959), in cui il fenomeno dei cinema nazionali viene analizzato in modo rigoroso. Questo articolo mostra come gli scritti di Sadoul sulla storia del cinema brasiliano facciano luce sul modo in cui egli ha gradualmente integrato la storia delle cinematografie periferiche nel suo progetto storiografico mondiale. Nel caso brasiliano, la scoperta (1953), la revisione (1957) e la ricerca (1960) della storia del cinema brasiliano che egli intraprese nel Paese sono legate alla formazione e allo sviluppo della ricerca storica presso la Cineteca brasiliana, diretta da Paulo Em&#xED;lio Sales Gomes. Attraverso questo approccio, sar&#xE0; possibile mostrare come Sadoul, in dialogo con Sales Gomes, abbia contribuito attivamente alla concezione e alla legittimazione di un modello narrativo adatto a un Paese di dimensioni continentali e all&#x2019;identificazione del cinema brasiliano con la propria storia.</subfield>
