Typology of the Careers of Retired Persons Covered under the Public Pension Plan and Construction of Standard Profiles
- 2003.

Retirement pensions are directly linked to the insured person’s career: the duration and total of the salary subject to contributions. To summarise the heterogeneity of careers within the private sector into a restricted number of set profiles is therefore a “lightweight” futurology tool for the coming load on the public plan. Data analysis techniques enable us to approach this target without carrying out an ex ante segmentation of the labour market. Observation of the insured people who retired in 2000 enables us to identify six groups that are close in terms of career duration (validated by salaried or assimilated periods), and salary level and evolution. For each of them we then draw up a corresponding representative career of salaries. Among these set profiles, the most obvious are the classic long male career, the career that ends in invalidity, and the one that begins in the private sector, only to end outside the aegis of the public plan.
