N2  - RésuméDepuis les années soixante-dix, le monde entier parle d’un « mystère des voix bulgares ». Peut-on percer ce mystère ? Nous menons ici l’enquête à partir d’une caractérisation des formes de polyphonie vocale que l’on rencontre dans le centre-ouest et le sud-ouest de la Bulgarie, dans les régions de Pazardzhik et Ihtiman, de Velingrad et à l’ouest de la Stara Planina. C’est la polyphonie en bourdon qui prédomine : une note tenue par un groupe soutient les prouesses mélodiques d’un soliste. Il arrive cependant que la seconde voix soit très mobile (dans les régions de l’intérieur), que le bourdon se démultiplie et donne naissance à des formes savantes d’hétérophonie. Nous repérons ainsi la façon dont la polyphonie bulgare véhicule des symboles mythologiques, aussi bien par les termes employés pour la caractériser que par une pratique virtuose de l’ornementation mélodique. Cependant, telle sera ici notre hypothèse, les formes mythologiques ne sont pas conservées au seul plan de la forme, elles le sont également au plan de l’engagement corporel dans les rituels où ces formes musicales sont proférées; Since the seventies the « mystery of Bulgarian voices » is famous all over the world. We try to discover it by studying forms of vocal polyphony observed in west-central and south-west Bulgaria, in the areas of Pazardzhik and Ihitman, Velingrad and west of the Stara Planina. Polyphony with a drone predominates : a note held by a group supports the skillful melodic performance of the soloist. But the second voice may be very variable (in the interior of the country), the drone may be sung by two, three or four voices (like in peripheral areas) and give rise to erudite forms of heterophony.We thus note how Bulgarian polyphony conveys mythological symbols, both in the terms used to characterize it and in the virtuoso practice of the melodic ornamentation. We start from the hypothesis that mythological symbols are preserved not only in the form, but also in the body language used in rituals in which these musical forms are expressed; ZusammenfassungSeit der 70er Jahre ist das Geheimnis der bulgarischen Stimmen berühmt in der ganzen Welt. Um dieses Geheimnis zu entdecken, untersuchen wir die Formen der Vokalpolyphonie, die in westzentralem und südwestlichen Bulgarien, in den Gegenden von Pazardzhik, Ihtilman, Velingrad und westlich von der Stara Planina beobachtet werden. Die Polyphonie mit Bordun ist vorherrschend : ein Ton, der von einer Gruppe ausgehalten wird, unterstützt die melodische Leistung eines Solisten. Doch kann die zweite Stimme sehr mobil sein (im Innern des Landes), der Bordun mit zwei, drei oder vier Stimmen gesungen werden (wie in den Randgebieten) und zu gelehrten Formen der Heterophonie leiten.Die bulgarische Polyphonie trägt mythologische Symbole sowohl in den Wörtern, die sie charakterisieren, wie auch in dem virtuosen Gebrauch der melodischen Verzierung. Wir nehmen an, dass diese mythologischen Symbole nicht nur in der Form erhalten sind, sondern auch in der Gestik der Rituale, in denen diese musikalischen Formen ausgedrückt werden
