<br/><br/> RésuméFormidable vecteur de nouvelles formes de normes et de nouveaux modèles sociaux dans les pays africains, le football peut être une porte ouverte à l’étude du politique comme des logiques économiques et sociales à l’œuvre. Accélérée par la montée en puissance des technologies de l’information et de la communication, la diffusion de ces normes appelle à renouveler l’approche du développement des sociétés africaines tant d’un point de vue international que local.  From the Events in Cabinda to the Drogba MythFootball is firmly anchored in the economic and political realities of African countries. This paper shows both how the federating power of football is regularly exploited by politicians, and how major sports events are diverted to serve political and financial interests. Although the positive impacts of the World Cup are uncertain, this paper shows that football is a source of dynamism and change. A grassroots analysis of football shows that football very often out eludes the established powers.
