<br/><br/> The essay tries to elaborate a theory on gender relations via a critique of Marx and Engels. In doing so the author uses the method of symptomatic reading, as developped by Louis Althusser. Antionio Gramsci’s notes on Fordism are used as a modell how to proceed in actual research on the mode of production and genderrelations. The author expands her critique to the concept of relations of production in its current meaning.
