La « Trinité infernale » comme motif itinérant de l’iconographie russe

<br/><br/> L’article est consacré au motif populaire de l’iconographie chrétienne, que l’auteur propose d’appeler la « Trinité infernale ». Le motif apparaît dans l’iconographie du Jugement dernier et représente trois personnages illustrés au centre de l’enfer : le diable est assis sur la bête-enfer et tient Judas sur ses genoux. L’étude examine les variations de ce motif visuel, ainsi que sa transformation en un motif itinérant, en un schéma iconographique flexible qui commence à fonctionner dans différents contextes visuels et qui inclut de nouveaux personnages, de sorte que chaque composition ultérieure conserve un lien sémantique avec l’original.  The article is devoted to the popular motif of Christian iconography, which the author proposes to call the “infernal trinity”. The motif appears in the iconography of the Last Judgment and represents three characters depicted in the center of the underworld : the devil sits on the beast-Hell and holds Judas on his knees. The paper considers variations of this visual model, as well as its transformation into a wandering motif - a flexible iconographic scheme that starts working in different visual contexts and includes new characters, so that each posterior composition retains a semantic connection with the original motif.
