N2  - L’intimité est essentielle à l’être humain, mais ses expressions sont sans cesse modifiées par le désir d’extimité. Celui-ci correspond au fait de déposer certains éléments de notre vie intime dans le domaine public afin d’avoir un retour sur leur valeur. Il est différent de l’exhibitionnisme et du conformisme. Il contribue à la fois à la construction de l’estime de soi, à la création d’une intimité plus riche et de liens plus nombreux. Il tient la clef de l’empathie sur Internet, et celle-ci tient à son tour la clef des pratiques pathologiques, notamment dans les jeux vidéo; Intimacy and extimacy on the InternetIntimacy is essential for the human being, but its expression is continually being modified by the desire for extimacy.
