N2  - Engaging in the experience of an analysis presupposes, we often forget, the choice of an analyst. The conditions and determinants of this choice, as well as the margins available to the future analysand, have varied greatly since Freud who was, initially, the only analyst. The geographical and sociocultural extension of psychoanalysis has led, in certain countries strongly marked by historical processes such as slavery, colonization or migratory phenomena, to questioning how and in what way the analytical field is, or is not, affected by “globalization” and the tensions between the universalization of the subject of science, on the one hand, and the phenomena of segregation and the withdrawal into identity politics on the other hand. This article aims to consider the question and to sort out the problems on the basis of what should be considered to be the spirit of psychoanalysis; L’engagement dans l’expérience d’une analyse présuppose, on l’oublie souvent, le choix d’un analyste. Les conditions et les déterminants de ce choix, comme les marges dont dispose le futur analysant ont beaucoup varié depuis Freud, qui fut, dans un premier temps, le seul analyste. L’extension géographique et socioculturelle de la psychanalyse a conduit, dans certaines contrées fortement marquées par des processus historiques tels que l’esclavage, la colonisation ou les phénomènes migratoires, à interroger en quoi et comment le champ analytique est affecté, ou pas, par la « globalisation » et les tensions entre l’universalisation du sujet de la science, d’une part, et les phénomènes de ségrégation et de replis identitaires, d’autre part.Le présent article s’attache à reconsidérer la question, à sérier les problèmes sur le fond de ce qu’il convient de considérer comme l’esprit de la psychanalyse
