Thibaudier, Viviane
Mystic and perversion. A clinical look
- 2008.
66
On the basis of Jung’s postulate of the archetype of the Self as the central organizing principle of the personality, the author suggests that, like an autist, a mystic has the ability to connect directly with this principle, even in the absence of a body for the Self to inhabit. Inversely, the pervert projects all of the qualities of the Self onto an other, thereby attributing undue powers to him which make him into a god and block any evolution process.
