N2  - In May 2017, the interim results of ongoing scientific research on the efficacy of Gestalt Therapy were presented by the authors of this article at the International Conference on Gestalt Therapy Research in Paris. These results, described as “very promising” by many gestalt colleagues, aroused keen interest in this research. This paper aims to trace the genesis of this study, to present its objectives and protocol and first intermediate results, as reported at the conference, in the hope that many gestalt-therapists will feel implicated and choose to participate in the study
