<br/><br/> In this article, the author proposes to examine the practice of scarification in adolescence through a clinical case resulting from her practice in hospital. It is a question of understanding, through the path of this teenager, the functions of scarification at different levels, but also how care can provide an answer. Underpinned by analytical theory, this article proposes to explore what is at stake in the relationship to oneself and to others and how the wound can become a space for encounter and elaboration.
