N2  - The role of brotherhood in literary creation, already considered by Freud for Gradiva shows itself very clearly when we put together the works of a writer and personal writings, letters and biographical data. Some shared features emerge: fusion and individuation moves, quest for a common envelop in the elaboration of premature deaths, quest for a twin or a clone during adolescence, as well as rivalries and mutual shoring up. A shared creative space often brings a way out from the invasiveness of depressive affects. From all this emerges the idea that creation is not only an individual process, but also a group process in which brotherhood forms an important and sometimes essential element
