N2  - Cet article interroge le phénomène clinique de l’addiction aux jeux de hasard. Par son apparente irrationalité oscillant entre perte inéluctable de gains et croyance irraisonnée défiant tout calcul de probabilités, cette addiction pose un problème spécifique : si le joueur ne joue pas fondamentalement pour gagner de l’argent, celui-ci étant toujours remisé, à quoi exactement est-il addict ? Parce qu’elle fait l’hypothèse de l’inconscient, la psychanalyse permet de redonner une logique à l’énigme de ce qui anime mystérieusement la passion du joueur. À la différence des conceptions actuelles de l’addiction, elle permet de réinstaurer la question de la causalité psychique en jeu en mettant au jour une jouissance spécifique du sujet face à l’aléatoire. Dans un premier temps, l’auteur propose une synthèse de sa pratique clinique avec des joueurs en centre de consultation en addictologie. À partir du constat de la rareté de leur engagement dans une demande de parole, il analyse les raisons spécifiques de l’addiction aux jeux de hasard qui font le refus de son déchiffrage par le sujet. Dans un second temps, le travail sur un an d’un cas clinique inédit est présenté. Ses enseignements contribuent à une clinique différentielle des addictions; This article focuses on the phenomenon of gambling from au clinical point of view. By its seeming irrationality which oscillates between an unavoidable loss of any possible gain and an unreasonable belief in success contradicting all forms of probability theory, this addiction poses a specific problem : if the gambler does not really play for money, this being always put at stake, what is he addicted to ? Psychoanalysis, by means of the hypothesis of the unconscious, allows to provide a logic which helps in solving the riddle of what misteriously moves the gambler’s passion. Contrary to the most current approaches to addiction, psychoanalysis allows to bring back the question of the relevant psychological causation by exhibiting a specific jouissance of the subject facing chance. At first, the author offers a synthesis of his clinical experience with gamblers at an addictology center. Starting from the observation that they rarely engage in a request for sustained dialogue, the author analyses the specific reasons that impede those addicted to gambling form decyphering their condition. Next, the author presents the original findings from a one-year treatement. These contribute to the establishment of a differential clinic of addictions
