<br/><br/> L’auteur présente une rencontre bouleversante portée par l’univers clos et transitoire de l’ e.h.p.a.d et quelques considérations sur la vie et la mort. En effet, l'institutionnalisation du sujet âgé implique le renouvellement du pacte de vie implicite à l'humain : « il faut supporter de vivre » encore un peu, dans l'ici et maintenant du temps suspendu, de la déchéance des corps et du désordre des esprits. Madame C. a choisi d’emprunter la voie du cri pour exprimer au monde son abandon de la vie ainsi que son lent et sauvage accouplement avec la mort. Dans le même temps, elle plongera l’institution dans la fureur et dans le bruit et la laissera désemparée devant ce « syndrome de glissement » particulier.  In this article, the author details an overwhelming encounter experienced within the closed and transitory universe of an old people’s home, as well as some thoughts on life and death. The institutionalization of elderly subjects involves a renewal of the human being’s implicit life pact: “we must put up with living” a little longer, in the here and now of suspended time, of the body’s decay, and of the mind’s disorder. Mrs C. chose to go down the path of screaming to announce her abandonment of life and her savage coupling with death to the world. She submerged the institution in fury and noise, leaving it unable to cope with this unusual form of “sliding syndrome.”
