N2  - À partir de la clinique de la nymphoplastie de réduction – intervention chirurgicale esthétique sur le sexe féminin – nous proposons d’interroger les représentations en jeu concernant l’organe génital féminin. Nous verrons qu’elles engagent à parcourir les discours médicaux portés sur l’hermaphrodisme, et à penser la question de la norme du sexe féminin, à partir des représentations individuelles et sociales, conscientes et inconscientes; Sex in Turmoil - the Question of Hermaphroditism, Psychoanalytical Clinical Practice and Surgical Reduction of the Labia Minora. Taking as its starting point psychoanalytical clinical practice in relation to surgical reduction of the labia minora, this article examines the representations of female genitalia thereby brought into play. These representations will lead us to explore medical discourse on the question of hermaphroditism and to rethink the question of what ‘normal’ means as far as female genitalia are concerned, from the perspective of both individual and social representations, be they conscious or unconscious
