<br/><br/> The coup d’état of 23 February 1981 in Spain continues to be the subject of journalistic controversy. History and the Social Sciences have not approached its phenomenology. In this approach, the collective emotion aroused by the failure of the military coup turned its defeat into the foundational act that Spanish democracy lacked. The role of television played a key role in this. The author makes a reading between political anthropology and political psychology, that interprets those events beyond the epochal journalism.  El golpe de Estado del 23 de febrero de 1981 en España sigue siendo objeto de controversia periodística. La historia y las ciencias sociales no se han acercado a su fenomenología. En este acercamiento, la emoción colectiva suscitada por el fracaso del golpe militar, convirtió su derrota en el acto fundacional del que adolecía la democracia española. Fue clave para ello el papel de la televisión. El autor realiza una lectura entre la antropología política y la psicología política, que interpreta aquellos acontecimientos más allá del periodismo epocal.
