Migrants, Transporters, and State Agents Meet on the Agadez-Sebha Axis
- 2005.
99
For a number of years now the trans-Saharan route Agadez-Dirkou-Sebha has been the scene of large movements of people migrating either within the region or between continents. All this human circulation, most of which is illegal, is driven by migratory networks made up of groupings of parties of various categories. The organization of these groups and the relationships that link them together yield information on the way the underlying reasoning and ethos of migration changes and develops. It brings out a current trend for the State and its agents no longer to differentiate between licit and illicit situations.
