Doing justice for feminicide
- 2023.
73
In the the Mexican context, this paper aims to examine the emergence of a new type of repertoire of contention, namely vindictive resistance, as one of the effects of the circulation of the concept of feminicide in the experiences of struggle of those who use it to oppose denial of justice and obtain compensation in conditions of impunity. This article thus proposes to think of feminicide as a blood debt, an attack on the life capital of the group which, if it is not settled by arbitral justice, requires a counter-offence and forms of symbolic compensation for the victims, their relatives and, more broadly, society.
