The autistic symptom, the part of oneself - 2021.

23

Through a meeting with Julien, a young autistic boy, the author studies the lack of symptom. She describes the silence of a body that conforms to its environment in order to avoid the unexpected, the overflow, or the multiple. She tries to explain this behavior by considering it as the reflection of the individual's psychocorporal weaknesses. The author also highlights that symptoms are essential to get a complete experience during the meeting between the patient and the therapist. She considers that those symptoms are part of the subjectivity and that they should be considered as such in order to fully understand the patient.
