<br/><br/> While at first the belief in one God seems to be the simplest idea, this simplification and the reduction it presupposes is based on a complex historical and psychological background. This article attempts to gain an understanding of its unconscious motive, starting from Freud’s position in relation to the monotheistic enigma.
