N2  - This article, centered on two cases of fathers who have murdered their sons, suggests a clinical reflection about the specific psychological dynamics behind this act. These cases are taken from a wider study on all child murders judged in a criminal trial court over a period of ten years. The author suggests the possibility that this kind of murder attempts to resolve an unconscious psychological conflict and to get out of a genealogical impasse. It takes place in a context of increasing losses and support failures. Therefore, the action seems as a subjective “resolution” for an excess of anxiety
