<br/><br/> The object can be used in a defensive way and for narcissistic intents. When otherness is a threat to narcissistic cohesion, the object can be invested as a homosexual double. A veritable fetish, this twin object helps maintain pseudo-objectival exchanges, but eventually may threaten what it intended to preserve: a stripped narcissism that does not allow the Ego to keep a unified image of itself.
