In this article, we intend to study the dynamic of the relationships established between juridical promotion (or imperial benefits), urban development and the transformations of the urbanitas in the African city of Sufetula during the High Roman Empire. Even if the site has not yet been fully excavated, the approach adopted would assess the impacts of the juridical mutations on the displacement of the centers of interest or popular gathering from the forum to new peripheral places, indeed the southeast and northwest suburbs, which are dominated at the end of this process by thermal baths and spectacle edifices.
