<br/><br/> À partir d’une observation participante de plusieurs mois dans un atelier d’éboueurs de la ville de Paris, l’article analyse les différentes formes d’engagement extrême du corps des travailleurs dans les différentes activités, avant de s’interroger, en conclusion, sur les limites actuellement rencontrées par les politiques de prévention au travail qui tentent d’inculquer un « souci de soi » insuffisamment en prise avec le réel du travail.  The author of this paper spent several months observing and participating in a workshop for refuse collectors in the city of Paris and goes on to analyse differing ways in which extreme bodily commitment is demanded on the part of these workmen in carrying out their varied daily tasks. He then concludes by pinpointing the limits encountered today in health and safety regulations which aim to instil a sense of ‘concern for self’ which is insufficiently correlated to the realities of the world of work.
