N2  - Criminal policy towards the adult offenders is becoming more repressive in Slovenia, but the main characteristic of dealing with juveniles is still protection. The courts impose non-institutional educational measures in approximately 90% of all cases. The introduction of mediation has not resulted in net-widening of the criminal justice system. The statistics indicate that the number of juveniles in prison and in pre-trial detention is increasing slightly but the rate is still quite low
