N1 - 81 N2 - Based on a quantitative survey among students, this article looks at the way police officers carry out stops and identity checks, particularly focusing on the selection criteria with which they operate. Physical appearance and sex relate significantly to the probability of being stopped at least once in one’s life. Race also appears to be significantly related with this possibility in a logistic regression model that includes variables for transport and leisure practices.
