N2  - This article examines the shifting legitimacy of scientific expertise witnessed between 2011 and 2015 in the context of shark risk management in Réunion, through the prism of its media construction. Analysis of articles from the local online press, coupled with interviews with local journalists and scientific experts, reveals how the constraints of the scientific and journalistic fields, in terms of communicative issues and practices, contribute to the dynamics of representations of the relationship between the media and social legitimacy of scientific experts
