The veridicity of information: An operational concept for critical media education
- 2024.

The phenomenon of fake news is an opportunity to examine the links between journalism and truth by looking at the relationship that journalists have with their audiences, even within their news stories. This paper focuses on the notion of veridicity, which is at the heart of journalistic enunciation, to offer a reference point at the center of the journalism-truth-public triad. It is relevant for understanding the plurality of news writing practices and serves as a tool for critical media education. The analysis of veridicity indicators in multimedia reports and graphic surveys makes it possible to question the discursive strategies of journalism and their pedagogical dimensions with the public.
