N1 - 5 N2 - NGOs are deploying less humanitarian and social services, and are increasingly applying themselves to training and empowerment activities. Our study focuses on the main civil society associations to answer a key question: Can we, in Lebanon, delimit perimeters of state intervention compared to those of civil society actors to promote real public social spaces, alongside the political public space? Our reflection on public societal action leads us to study the processes of adhesion and engagement from two points of view: psychosocial and political. This approach allows us to better understand the modalities of contemporary engagement. By looking at the forms of action, we can tackle the challenges of social mobilization and social movements, in particular by approaching the figure of the media activist.
