<br/><br/> Over the last few decades, the “monster-child” is a haunting image that has spread in films and literature. This image relates to children deformed by nature such as the Elephant Man or sons of the devil like Rosemary’s baby, or by science such as Frankenstein. In these tales, the adults are often portrayed as powerless in the face of their own descendants, who revolt against their parents and the authority of their laws. In a society where children have such easy access to the world of adults (for whom staying young has become essential), images of monstrous children embody genealogical disorders and the fears related to it.
