The Search for Personal Origins: Administrative or Narrative Act?
- 2013.

After reviewing the concept of the “quest for origins,” which goes far beyond a search for the subject’s biological or genetic origins, this paper underlines the epistemological roots of the concept of narrative that converge today in the way in which this concept is used in works on the development of young children. ?The narrative is co-constructed in the early interactions between children and the adults who care for them. In light of various data, this paper concludes that the National Council for Access to Personal Origins (NCAPO) presents a risk in that it may turn the search for origins into an administrative act rather than a narrative act.
