<br/><br/> The clinical category of difficult adolescents can be defined by violent and transgressive behaviour, by the notion of family deficiency and by the malaise brought out in clinic. It is used to designate a fringe population of the institutions. Since the end of the 1990s it has been the object of editorial activity, the development of professional networks, academic groupings and the elaboration of public policy. However, in methodically essentialising the movement forward clinical knowledge does not show the social relationships, moral judgements and political conditions building this fringe.
