<br/><br/> Taking Sigmund Freud’s texts on infantile sexuality as a starting-point, I adumbrate Sándor Ferenczi’s concept of the confusion of tongues between adults and the child to show its pertinence in contemporary clinical work with children and adolescents. A multitude of confusions are possible in the case of traumatic situations of sexual abuse and also in the psychic construction of the subject.
