This article questions the sense of the redoubling of “shame of shame” that signals a subjective crossing in the course of the analytic cure. This crossing takes place with the putting into perspective of all the analysand’s quarrels and complaints to the Other of his childhood, in the transference. In the interplay of identifications and narcissistic bases, shame of shame concerns the vertical axe of ascendant-descendant. In shame of shame it is a question of transmission.
