<br/><br/> Following his work on monetary crises, Bruno Théret returns in this interview to the historical plurality of the forms of money or of currency. He views public money as state currency, which has assumed different historical forms since the Old Regime. Today, the state is once again viewed restrictively, no longer as producing the public good but as preying upon it: every effort is made to cancel its monetary power and limit its financial resources by subjecting it, through the mediation of the national debt, to the authority of private finance.
