Social Involvement and Psychotherapy - 2006.

27

Social implication and psychotherapy The author examines the major elements of the present society context, which renders the individual into a technologically assisted autonomous being, in a context of individualism, profit and personal pleasures. Relying on the concept of the hypermodern individual he warns against the dangers of making use of psychotherapy for purposes of economic rationality. Psychotherapy must take into account ethical suffering and sustain individuals in making clear their own choices in the face of current social contradictions. The author mistrusts large society projects and calls for ethical vigilance within society. His concept integrates conflict, the fight against arbitrariness and promotes reciprocity leaning on R. Misrahi’s existential philosophy.
