In two clinical cases during her own bereavement, the author remains alive in the face of death without ignoring it. The suicide of her daughter allows her first patient to return to an older mourning, to express sadness and anger and to remobilize herself to affirm her needs and her limits. The onset of leukemia accelerates the developmental process of the second patient, with her false-self blocking any expression of aggressiveness.
