A growing commercialization is affecting companies in the social and solidarity economy. Because they must compete and participate in bidding processes, large associations often put excessive pressure on their employees, many of whom wind up burning out. Faced with the more lucrative private sector, health and mutual insurance companies have been undergoing mergers and radically changing their strategies, creating increasingly difficult working conditions. This has led to widespread disillusionment.
