Racial, colonial, and environmental issues - 2021.

87

Pap Ndiaye, a specialist in American social history and the Black condition, is the new general director of the Palais de la Porte-Dorée. This monumental building, which was once the Musée des colonies et de la France extérieure (Museum of the Colonies and External France), now houses the Musée national de l'histoire de l'immigration (MNHI) (National Museum of the History of Immigration) and a tropical aquarium. The historian intends to address racial, colonial, and environmental issues that are returning to the political forefront.
