Temporal dimensions of the perception of home care quality - 2019.

59

Why do some elderly dependent individuals have a negative view of the quality of the home care they receive and therefore show limited support for the forms of intervention offered to them under the Allocation Personnalisée à l’Autonomie (Personal Autonomy Allowance)? The context of a call for research proposals by DREES-CNSA allowed the authors to explain some of these phenomena through the prism of temporality. Based on the fieldwork, it appears that the actions of home carers have varying effects on the temporal dynamics of the elderly people they care for, and that the appreciation of the care is relatively correlated with this element. From a qualitative empirical approach, this article highlights different care configurations, showing how they are the result of an interplay between a plurality of temporalities constituting the identity of elderly people and professional actions.
